Spotted: Norwich! {A weekend away}

One of my favourite places to shop has always been Norwich. My husband used to work in Norfolk, so we have both spent many hours wandering between the boutique lanes, bustling markets or multitude of bars. So when we popped to Suffolk for a minibreak with the parents, I had to pop into Norwich to find the latest home must haves and to finish off the Christmas shopping.

If your looking for something a little different or a cute gift for a loved one (or yourself), I would always recommend popping into Quest. At the moment they had a beautiful array of Christmas decorations including these cute dustygreen baubles which had to be purchased. We have mainly Nordic decorations on our tree, but thought this would add a subtle freshness to the decorations.

 My favourite non-Christmas spot was this  lovely sea green Lantern. The eastern-inspired Parlane Pierre Lantern would fit perfectly in any room and add a subtle splash of colour for £30.

Just across the road is one the best the best department stores in the area. Jarrolds is home to all things beautiful. It also looked so festive covered head to toe in lights. From an extensive beauty section to an appealing fashion department, you can pretty much pick up anything there. Including some interior dreams. We all fell in love with this beautiful Harris Tweed Sofa with a large matching coffee table/foot rest. But sadly was greatly out of our price range. What I did love was the selection of different tweed you could customise your sofa too.

However this cute coffee table really did take my eye. Goegerous and practical with a rustic/industrial feel to it. This would beautifully compliment most seating arrangements and could be decorated with a selection of beautiful candles, desk lamp or ornate bowl. Anything which takes your fancy.

Now what is always a treat, is getting lost around Country and Eastern, a beautiful maze housed in a Victorian Skating Rink located in the heart of Norwich. This place is full of large, interesting and unusual range of decorative furnishing based on the traditional skills of crafts men and women in countries extending from Turkey through to the East of Java.

Now, you wouldn’t think of our home when it comes to an Asian inspired abode, but the pieces you can pick up here always add a beautiful touch to anyone’s home. Everything here is also so reasonable. We picked up a few good purchases as well. We’re planning on re doing our bedroom next year so these rustic hooks will fit in great for hanging up my jewellery. £20 for the pair. We also picked up this cute copper plate and trinket dish to dot around our house.

They had some beautiful cupboards and we especially fell in love with these set of draws. Unfortunately we only had the small car, so we had to say goodbye to these at the door. But these would fit perfectly in a study.

Another one of my favourites is found down the beautiful traditional royal arcade called Berrys & Grey, which is home to a beautiful array of home essentials. They have an abundance of faux flowers, which can lighten up your home without having to throw them away in a week or so. We picked up from here a few posies of Roses and Peonies but also a stunning marble and copper vase to sit on our bedside table. Cute right?!

So all in all a pretty good haul for not a lot spent. Most things were either picked up in the sale or brought for a bargain! Even the dull, rainy weather couldn’t keep us from shopping till we dropped. Plus these cute Macroons complimented a cuppa when we got home.

We stayed in a beautiful barn on the Suffolk/Norfolk near the town Beccels. I was lucky to stay here on my hen do back in April, so we knew we were in for a treat. There are eight barns in total, with beautiful fields as far as the eye can see. The barns were decorated festively with these cute wooden Reindeers on the green. It really was just where you want to come back to after a busy day shopping.

So all in all a pretty good trip. There are so many beautiful little bits and bobs you can add to your home to really make it your own, without as always having to spend much. You just need to know where to find the deals. Let’s hope this little post helps your shopping needs.

Until next time…
