Even though our spare bedroom is probably the least used of our home, we were keen to ensure we style this just how we imagined. We wanted the room to feel cosy and relaxing for someone to stay, but with a quirky feel.
Something you’ve may or may not noticed about our home is we tend to style a room individually rather than through the whole house. This may not always be the ‘done’ thing but I love loads of different styles, so enjoy trying to mix different styles into different rooms. And our spare bedroom is an example of this.
The theme for the was Geometric with a splash of colour. Inspired around this fabulous Next home wallpaper. We have been avoiding wallpaper in recent years as a feature wall, but we couldn’t resist this look. The colours also helped up focus the tones for the room.
We also picked up a practical and beautiful wardrobe also from Next home to help give the room a slight industrial. We accessorised with an original vintage style suit case, which we used for the wedding. It really finishes off the furniture but is also practical to fill with a multitude of handbags.
We couldn’t resist treating ourselves to a side table from Next which we just LOVE. It again gives the room a slight industrial feel but compliments the wallpaper. We like to use a range of textures, so often hover towards wood furniture.
We decided to keep our IKEA day bed as it is brilliantly handy for when we have friends stay, as it pulls out into a double. We accessorised with this blush pink and grey bedding from H&M, which ties together the greys from our wallpaper. We also changed around the handles on the draws with cute handles from a flee market in Berlin.
For lighting, we added in a copper ceiling light we picked up in the Next sale for only £10. We also picked up this copper desk lamp from Made which really does finish off the room. The mix of copper, blush pink and grey is really a match made in heaven.
To make this room feel more of a guest room, I was lucky to be gifted a sunning glass box from Anthropologies, which I have filled with L’Occitane goodies for our guest to use. Just a little touch of luxury.
Our final addition to the room are these three hexagon shelves from Urban Outfitters. I have been in love with these ever since I first laid eyes on them and just had to find a place for them. These really help finish off the room and can be customised with whatever you fancy. We have picked up a couple of mini pots from Anthropologies which I will fill with some cute succulent’s and of course, a few candles. We are also going to adorn one of them full of my favourite rocks and crystals, so it give another dimension to the geometric theme. And also, I bloody love a pretty rock.
Until next time…
